La Petite Maison

site title During the 13 years that we have offered our self-catering Burgundy holiday rental cottage / gîte it has proved to be very comfortable for up to four people.

Situated in the heart of Burgundy's Chalonnaise wine area, the gîte, which is located between Beaune and Chalon-sur-Saône, provides easy access to the large wine-growing regions of Bourgogne and Rhone.

A well-presented renovated gîte at the edge of a thriving village, it has a large living/dining area, with a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms - double and twin, a shower room, and a large outside area with table, chairs and barbecue.

La Petite Maison is a 19th Century, two storey cottage built in stone, located at the centre of Burgundy's vineyards - Mercurey - Rully - Givry - Santenay - Beaune - Meursault - Pommard - St. Aubin - Volnay - Puligny - Chassagne. It is situated in a cul-de-sac within a hamlet on the edge of the village of Fontaines.

The ground floor of the cottage has a spacious living/dining room, and an open-plan kitchen. The large shower room has a WC and a washbasin unit. Upstairs is a double bedded room and a twin-bedded gallery room, each with chest-of-drawers and clothes rail. A gate closes off the stairs. The cottage is equipped with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher. A cot and linen, a high-chair and pot are available on request.

It is an easy 15-minute stroll to the centre of the village where there are two bakers, two hairdressers, a general food store & tobacconist, chemist, post office, cafe, a hotel/restaurant, fast-food restaurant, and a cafe, a dentist, and two doctor's surgeries. Walking out of town one finds another hotel/restauant within one mile.

We have two 26" wheel and one 24" wheel bicycles that guests may be able to use, a patio with BBQ, and off-road parking.

Within a short driving distance of the gîte are golf links, swimming pools, museums, châteaux, art galleries, parks and concerts halls. The area is renowned for its street markets, and excellent cuisine.

Whether your desire is for good wine, good food, sport, rock climbing, walking, cycling, museums, golf, photography, culture, history, or relaxation, your Burgundy holiday at la Petite Maison will not be unrewarded.
